Donkey conference

A few years ago there was a seminar here on the island, called The Mediterranean Donkey, with seminars, talks and films. I remember this since we rented our house to some Norwegian ladies who came to show a film of how they kept donkeys in Norway (!).
Anyway, this is how I envision the gathering of the conference, after a long day of seminars and speaches everyone met in the port to mingle.

Abstract & Cat

I called this painting Abstract & Cat No. 1. I see many cats around here, sometimes I wonder what goes on in their sweet heads, what abstract thoughts are created in their food-centered brains?

Box and cat #1

Strange how cats really love boxes, as soon as I leave an empty paper box outside my house, one of the stray cats end up sleeping in it, no matter how small the box is. This morning Grisse, the gray cat that used to be terrified of people and never came near our house, he looked up from the small box with a look on his face that said "There you are, can I have some breakfast now please?".

Plakes Beach

I took part in painting this cabin at the Plakes Beach today. It's built from wooden crates that were used to ship some large bronze statues from the US.

My friend Michael was asked if he wanted to paint the cabin and Michael wanted me to come along. "Maybe you could paint a donkey" he said.

So this morning I took a boat to Plakes and Michael was already in full action, and I just added a donkey, a cat and some houses.

Terrace view

This is the view from our terrace, as it used to be before the eucalyptus trees in the valley grew up.

Eleni

Here's an old painting with the freighter Eleni in the foreground. The ship is gone from the harbour now but someone said she is being taken care of and one day she will be exhibited as a museum piece. We look forward to that.

My new donkey

Packing my small bag and closing my house, just left a big bag of oranges for my friend down in Kamini, soon heading for the Flying Cat to take me to Piraeus and one night in a small hotel, then off to Stockholm tomorrow. Will my clients greet me when I ride my new Greek donkey from the airport in Stockholm?

Made in Greece

Made some abstract paintings, no connection to the island really, more than that they are done here. Maybe I'll sneak in an olive later, or so.

25+ watercolors

After three days of mixed rainshowers and a lot of indoors activities like water colors, Kindle gadgeting, writing, sleeping - the hot Greek sun was back this morning, a large cup of coffee and the sun was *very* hot against the wall and the Kindle works brilliantly even in direct sunlight. Today is Saturday and I have already made the 25+ watercolors that goes with the next Kamini Press book. Mission completed.
