70 years ago

 

This postcard was sent in 1939, check out how the boats look and I hardly see any cafés, maybe one or two beneath the sunshades. If you look at the Tassos house in the back, there's a large sunshade on the side, maybe there was a café open?

The house and the shop is back? (photo from 1973)

 

I found this old photo, it's from May 1973 and if you've been to Hydra recently you have seen that the house with the shop, that was in bad shape for many years and recently was a carpenter's shop, is now built up again. Also it seems like the houses in the back are reconstructed, and look just like they used to.

To the left in the photo is the old pharmacy, you see the balustrades on top.

Look at this one, this is how the Flying Dolphins looked 26 years ago. Is it really a hydrofoil?

Olympiakos

 

Olympiakos, the boys from Piraeus, Greece's equivalent of Hammarby? I think this photo is late 60's but it will be investigated. I know that many of you are also waiting for the names of the players.

Stamp view

 

Another stamp view of Hydra. On the other side of the water you see Spiros Kriezis house.

The observant reader may notice some dirty spots on the stamp. The stamp is used, that's why.
